How much does mulch cost at Home Depot?
We found that the price of mulch varies by region and by location. The prices below are averages that may guide your decision process.
To cover 100 square feet with a 3-inch layer of hardwood bark mulch, you’ll need about 0.9 cubic yards of mulch. This is about 13 bags (2 cu. ft. each). At Home Depot, this should cost about $40.
To cover 250 square feet with a 3-inch layer of hardwood mulch, you’ll need about 2.3 cubic yards of mulch. This requires about 32 bags of mulch. At most Home Depot stores, this will cost about $100.
There are many different types of mulch to choose from, including cypress mulch, pine bark nuggets, and red colored mulch. The type of mulch you choose will be an important cost factor.
